449. Clouds billowing up
Today, already in the morning, great clouds are rising in all directions. The photo was taken at a nearby supermarket.
Looks like the summer is coming to an end.

448. O-tuki-san today
Took a photo of today's o-tuki-san as the sky is clear. Two days after the mika-duki (third-day moon).

The distance between the moon and the sun is nearly equal to that of the earth. Thus the brightness of the moon surface must be the same as that on our globe. So, I changed the camera setting from the auto to the manual, and set 1/125, F5.6, and took several shots without a tripod.
My guess seems correct and the result is roughly as in the photo. In old-fashioned context, film sensitivity ASA 100, shutter speed 1/125 sec, aperture F5.6, used to be the default values for cloudy days.

Old species of asagao almost came to my shack at the 2nd floor, and finally started blooming.
The full bloom, next month.

446. Mono-ara-gai
The photo is for medaka at my place.
A few years ago, I bought the fish sold as a set with a glass vessel.

The vessel, I believe, is exactly the same design as the one which had been widely used in small candy stores in the past. As the same sets are still seen in roadside stations here and there, the set might be a long-selling item.
A kind of mono-ara-gai* are also in the vessel, happened to be so or intentionally arranged by the seller. As they eat the algae which grow at the inner surface of the vessel, there is no need to clean the inside surface.
Before, I had used seemingly more tough glass vessel. As the algae grow quickly, I had to clean the inside frequently. During the cleaning, it looked I scrathced the inner surface, and the vessels leaked about twice a year and must be replaced with new ones.
While this one in the photo, though looks rather fragile, has had no probelem at all because the cleaning work is not needed. This is made possible entirely thanks to this tiny creatures.
* A millimeter-size shellfish, might correspond to "pond snail" in English, not sure.

There stands a strange stuff at a nearby elementary school.
Looks like the one which is said appeared on the seashore of Kyushu long before.
444. In the evening after the rainy weeks
An asagao leave swaying with the evening sun behind.
Different from the ordinary ones, this sprouts as late as in July. No flowers yet. It usually starts blooming at the end of August.

This is an old species. It makes sense that the haiku seasonal word for asagao is the autumn and not the summer.

A ceiling of a cafeteria of the roadside station, Kouzaki / The town of fermentation.
Long laminated wood enables this high ceiling.

This is a heel of shoes I bought yesterday.

My feet seem wider than those of usual person and I have long used the types called 4E. However, I have felt they are still narrow. As I happened to see a type with 6E indication in a shop. I immediately bought 2 pairs of the shoes.
As they are very comfortable, I took this shot for my memory. One thing I noticed is that when I step on the car accelerator as usual, I tend to step the side of brake pedal too at the same time. Soon I got accustomed to this.
I highly recommend this shoes for those who have wider feet. Maybe, not so many.
